Greetings to all..
PLAGIARISM
PLAGIARISM
What is PLAGIARISM? From my understanding, plagiarism is a kind of crime which one copying or using one's ideas and showed it as his / her own. In a more easier way, I would say it as stealing. Maybe many of us think that words and ideas can't be stolen. In this case, they are totally wrong. This is because, the expression of original ideas, is considered as intellectual property, and is protected by copyright laws, just like original inventions.
One of the reasons why one plagiarize other is that he / she like the thoughts and ideas. But, there are always other ways to use / take the ideas without plagiarizing. One of it is by using citation. Meaning here, you have to put the author's name and year or even the source of that particular articles according to the format.
Basically, there are 3 types of plagiarism which are minimal, substantial and complete plagiarism. Other than that, the reason why plagiarism is considered unethical is because it denied the opportunity to learn and practice skills that may be needed in your future careers. Besides, you are inviting the employees and the faculties to question your integrity and you show your disrespect to your peers who have done their work.
In a nutshell, we should AVOID Plagiarism!!
LITERATURE REVIEW
Generally, literature review is a guiding concept of your work or findings. This writing is always required if you are a university or college student. In a good literature review, one should include the overall view of your work and ideas ; strengths and weaknesses. Actually, by writing a literature review, you can help yourself in strengthening your skills in two major areas which are information seeking and critical appraisal. But one for sure, writing a literature is a bit difficult and time consuming task. Well, where there is a will, there will be a way.
EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH PROCESS
Below is what it means by Educational Research Process.
A cyclical process of steps that typically begins with identifying a research problem or issue of study. It then involves reviewing the literature, specifying a purpose for the study, collecting and analyzing data, and forming an interpretation of information. This process culminates in a report, disseminated to audiences, that is evaluated and used in the educational community. (Creswell, 2002)
Some purposes why educators do such educational research is that they want to improve the practice, add to knowledge, address gaps in knowledge, expand knowledge, replicate knowledge and add voices of individuals to knowledge. If one can see, there are so many reasons above connected to knowledge benefit. So, I think that the definition by Cresswell above suits well with the purposes.
